The bras we donate will be sorted by local women and sold on to market traders. The money raised gives the women a decent income and is also invested by Oxfam in projects to help fight poverty in Senegal.
We have such a throwaway culture here in Britain. But instead of sending your old bras to a landfill, they can be used to improve people’s lives. Few Senegalese businesses have the right technology to make good-quality bras, so British bras are really prized.
